Amit
Tandon is a busy and a happy man these days. The singer, actor, and
anchor has his hands full with his upcoming music album, a new daily and a talk
show respectively. "Singing, anchoring and acting are my three passions and
I am glad to be doing all three at the same time. This gives me immense pleasure,"
says an ecstatic Amit.
Last seen in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Amit is set to resume his
acting career with Zee TV's new show
Saath Saath Banayenge Ek Aashiyaan, a
story of two brides married in the same household. Speaking on
his character, Amit says, "I play Abhay Singh. He hails from a typical Punjabi
family from Delhi. His father wants him to marry the girl of his choice, who is
his best friend's daughter. However, Abhay shocks his family when he returns from
America with an NRI wife Lisa. The family is unwilling to accept her as their
bahu. This show highlights the cultural divide." Last year,
Amit took a break from acting so as to concentrate on his second music album.
However, this album was due to release in August 2006 but it didn't materialise.
So, what caused the delay? Amit replies, "That's true but these things happen
especially when you are dealing with a big company like Tips. Everything needs
to fall in place. In all likelihood, it should release by the end of March. After
all, it's better late than never".
