Shubhangi Aatre who became a household name with her innocent act of Kasturi in Balaji’s namesake is playing truant. The actress is reported to have boycotted the shooting of the show from the past three days. Shubhangi, an Ekta find did a role in Kasauti Zindagi Kay, from where the producer picked her to play the lead role in Kasturi.

A source from the set reveals, “There are some issues brewing between the actress and the production house over the increment of her payment. Also Shubhangi is not happy with the atmosphere on the sets. She has issues with the lead actor Karan Patel who allegedly uses foul language on the sets. Even the technicians and others use cuss words on the sets which really upsets the actress.”

“A furious Ekta Kapoor has apparently asked her to resume to shooting else the K-queen will be left with no choice than to serve her with a legal notice. Ekta is famous for her sincerity, hard work and attachment with her shows and since Kasturi is a hit with the audience, that adds to the worry of the producer. Till date Shubhangi has been cordial, but it seems her demands have increased with the success of the show. The actress has to look after her family and can’t afford to shoot for 15 hours a day. The production is in a fix as they have no bank of episodes,” adds our source.

Nivedita Basu, Creative Head, Balaji, however denies the rumours and says, “There is nothing but health issues. She is admitted to the hospital due to fatigue. Her husband has furnished us with her medical reports.”
