What national tragedy has affected you the most?

Bomb blasts, hijackings, murders are the few faces of terrorism. The beautiful tourist town of Jaipur was recently rocked by a series of bomb blasts. It is sad that Indians have almost become used to such gruesome acts of violence. Will such repeated acts of terrorism maim the psyche of an emotional nation? Will we stop get affected or do we still have our hearts in the right place? And finally is India a soft target for terrorist acts?

Some of our television stars are angry, upset and extremely disturbed by this and this is what they feel.

Is India a soft target for terrorists? What national tragedy has affected you the most?

Daljit Kaur: India is definitely becoming a soft target for terrorists. People all over the world also think likewise.

The one thing that affected me most on the national level is the safety of ourselves and people. Today it’s somebody else tomorrow it could be any one of us. I’m being very pessimistic but that is how it is. I remember the train blast in Mumbai, it really shook me. One blast and we can connect to all the previous ones

Rajeev Khandelwal: - I really don’t know whether India is a soft target or not. If we look at a bigger prospective then the fear of terrorism is all over the world. It’s a world wide phenomenon.
The one thing that affected me most is that why innocent people are targeted. India is a peace loving country so why do such things happen? It could not be the terrorist from a foreign country but could be one from our own country I think people within the country want to hog some limelight. I just fail to understand the motive behind such blasts.

Gunjan Walia: Yes, I believe that India is a soft target for terrorists. The recent Jaipur blast has shaken me up tremendously. Moreover I see that people do not support each other. It’s very sad.
I think communal disturbances affect most of us even on a national level. We should all forget about the different religions and begin to believe in humanity as the only religion. There are murders and blasts taking place in the name of religion because we don’t consider each other humans but judge each other on the basis of only religion. We should not forget that we are different from animals.

Shaleen Bhanot: - I don’t think that India is becoming a soft target. India is doing its best to control all this.
On a national level the only big issue is that people of our country don’t trust Inida at all. I think they need to change their mindset and start trusting each other. They should start thinking beyond themselves. As a nation everyone should contribute towards the country’s betterment.

Manava Naik: - We were always a target for terrorists. The incident that affected me most was the 93 blasts. There was so much of suffering and pain everywhere. Innocent people were killed. They suffer in somebody else’s game. During my childhood days I used to fear whether I would reach home safely and will I ever be able to see my dear ones again. The fear factor of not knowing what’s next is a big trauma.
