Raghu,
the assistant vice president of MTV shows, had a bigger presence in the fifth
season of Roadies. He is famous for his tough auditions. His out of the
ordinary personality made Roadies 5.0 more interesting. Now that the show
has ended, he is delighted and satisfied with how it all panned out. This tough
looking guy is indeed a high flier as he has walked the toughest paths of life
and come up as an achiever. Raghu
offers a peek to the unknown aspects of his life only to Tellychakkar.
Who was the best Roadie, according to you, from this season? Nihal
was the best Roadie from this season. I said this to him as well. I told him that
he had the Roadie’s spirit which made him a true roadie. He deserved to win.
What is the conduct that you hated and appreciated from
this season of roadies?
There was some or the other behavior of every
Roadie which I didn’t like. I disliked the bitching that happened on the
show. I feel bitching comes naturally to us. It is very easy to do that but to
face bitching correctly is difficult. Prabjoth handled the situation of being
bullied and bitched, so strongly. I am proud of her for that and that is the kind
of conduct I appreciate. How was young Raghu in his
school and college days? Well I am still young but I was a different
person altogether when I was in school and college. I used to be bullied a lot.
I was an introvert who feared girls. I would get scared to even face girls. I
was always beaten up by others. I was a kind of a guy who would be thrown from
first position in a queue to the last one and I wouldn’t even resent. I was bad
at studies. I am a college dropout but I was talented. I used to sing and dance
very well. I used to write songs. I was such a humble guy that the first song
that I wrote had its first two lines as ‘Excuse me. My name is Raghu.’ I have
also written a song for my show Roadies. Why were you
bullied to such an extent? It was because I gave others a chance to
bully me. I believe unless you permit someone to treat you badly, no one can take
a toll on you. I was bullied and harassed by others because I was intimidated
by them. I was timid, meek and weaker. Anyone could treat me the way they wanted.
I was over nice to people. Tell us about your journey from being
timid to tough? I realized that there is no point in being extra nice
to people, especially if you don’t get the same niceness in return. I was tired
of pretending. I decided that I will just be myself. Things changed when I started
being myself. Now I am a person who doesn’t care if he is rude to someone but
believes in speaking his mind. Are there any specific experiences
in your life that has made you a strong personality with good sense of analysis
and judgment? Firstly, I don’t feel that I have a good sense of analysis
and judgment. My judgments are not always right. That is just the way you perceive
me but yes, you guessed it right that I have gone through certain experiences
that has made me a strong personality with some sense of analysis. I
have gone through a lot in life. Apart from dropping out of college and being
treated wrongly by people, I had a heart shattering break up with my girl friend.
I gave up my job, I traveled aimlessly, I was penniless for ten long years and
I have even begged at Marine Lines with my guitar. So life has taught me a lot.
Do you fear something? I get scared of many things. For instance,
I get scared of all the tasks in Roadies but I try out all the tasks before
that are performed by the Roadies. I don’t succumb to my fears, I overcome
them. How has your journey been from the 1st to 5th
season of Roadies? I never thought that we would reach the fifth
season of Roadies one day. How we have reached here I don’t know. I got
three promotions but I am still slogging. The show has changed and many things
related to it have changed. The biggest change is that I am wearing a yellow color
shoes today which I never even imagined wearing.
