What’s that extra something which your wife has done for you?

We asked this to some of the popular husbands on television and found that they were all praise for their wives. They find their lives special because their wives have done special things for them time and again. The real-life pairs come across as picture-perfect. They have fallen in love, grown, lived and sustained their relationship. They have been there for each other, cared, understood, loved and respected one another. Isn’t that what we call marriage? The wives have all played an important role in these successful marriages. They have gone that extra mile whenever required. As the saying goes, “Behind every successful man is a woman.” In each of these relationships the woman is not just the reason for her man’s success but is also successful in her own right in her chosen field of work.

Roshan Abbas: My wife Shaheen is a jewellery designer and most thoughtful and caring about things which matter. I’m a forgetful man but she is the one who always remembers to do things. Once I saw a very beautiful and expensive watch in a magazine and wanted to have it. A few days later I got it as a gift from her. She always does such things. She’s also very caring of my parents. My father has been admitted to a hospital and Shaheen is at his side taking care of him more than I do.

Bhaktiar:
My new-born son, Zeus, is the most special thing that my wife has given me. Though there are many extra special things that Tanaaz has done for me, the most precious and touching gift that I can think of is my son.

Amit Tandon:
I’m grateful to my wife for the sacrifice that she has made by shifting to India after my marriage. She was a successful doctor in the US and has had to give up her practice. Her sacrifice and adjustment has made me more responsible towards my own career and has also generated great respect for her. Besides, she is extremely encouraging and supportive. The credit for my success today goes to my wife.

Sharad Kelkar:
My birthday was approaching and I happened to mention to my wife that I wished my mother would be with me on my birthday. She fulfilled my wish by getting her to Mumbai on my birthday from Gwalior. This is not a one off thing. She always surprises and touches my heart with such extra somethings. This helps keep our relationship alive.

Ronit Roy:
I can’t point out one extra something that my wife has done for me. Everything that she does is special because she is very special to me. Life is not about extra special things but regular day-to-day things which make a relationship special.
