Her continued absence made her critics feel that she’s called it quits. However, Surbhi Tiwari marks her return to acting after completely recovering from a serious back injury which kept her out of work for nine months.

Says Surbhi, “I’m thrilled to be working again. Last year, I suffered a slip disc and was bed-ridden for almost three months. Naturally I had to quit all my work. Some people felt that I quit the industry.”

Surbhi marks her comeback with Jai Productions’ Maa, which will be aired on the soon-to-be-launched Hindi GEC Colors. “I can’t tell you much about the show except that it’s a daily and I’m playing a negative role, perhaps after nine years. Though my character’s name is Mamta, but she simply hates kids. She herself doesn’t have one but she envies all children which her husband brings home from their ashram. She always keeps telling her husband to sell off the ashram.”

While Surbhi ddin’t speak much on the show’s plot, a source reveals “Maa is about a lady who is blessed with divine powers. Surbhi’s co-actor in Kumkum Snikda plays the lead.”
