A new social drama is soon to be launched on Sony. Making a return after a long time are actress Alka Kaushal and husband Ravi Kaushal. Alka will produce the show whereas Ravi is the creative head. The last show that they produced was Naya Daur on Zee TV.

A source from the production house informed, “The lead roles will be played by new comers. Veteran actor Raza Murad will be playing the role of Gyaniji. He is the father of the male lead who is serving the Indian army. A popular actress is tipped to play the second wife of Raza Murad and step- mother to his son. The story is about a girl from Punjab whose groom dies during the usual Punjabi custom of firing bullets at the wedding ceremony. The role of this girl is played by a new comer named Surily. Gyaniji promises her father that he will get his son married to her. The story revolves around the girl, boy and their families.”

The source further informed, “The show is tentatively titled as Mai Bihayi Kirpaan Ki. It is slated to go on air from the first week of October. The tentative time slot is 8 pm from Monday to Thursday.”

When approached the producer Alka Kaushal said, “I am producing this show whereas my husband Ravi Kaushal is the creative head. We are making a show after a sabbatical of 6-7 years. I was busy with my acting commitments and my husband was occupied with his film assignments. This one is going to be one of the biggest serials of Sony. But I can’t talk much about it till the channel makes an official announcement.”
