Uttaran to grow ‘old’

Colors owes a lot of its success to shows which have children as the leads. Well, the kids have to grow for the story to progress and thus viewers will not get to see the likes of Driti Bhatia (Krishna), Sparsh (Iccha) and Ishita (Tapasya) in Jai Shri Krishna and Uttaran respectively.

Talking about the ensuing track in Uttaran, a reliable source says, “Initially, the two girls were picked for twenty-five episodes only. However, after the initial success their track was extended. However, the story has to progress thus the two kids will grow old.”

Confirming the news, producer Pintoo Guha says, “Yes, soon Sparsh and Iccha will grow up. A nation wide audition is taking place to pick the new Iccha and Tapasya. It is not a leap but just a natural progression of the story. This change will only come into effect from next month. There could be a further delay too.”

When asked whether they’ll look for fresh face, Guha replied, “No, we’ll pick faces that suit the character. They can be old or new.”
