| Her
admirers have been bewildered by her long absence from television. Well, viewers
will once again get to see Apara
Mehta on TV albeit for a day. The seasoned actress will appear in an
episode of Sahara One show Jo ishq ki marzi who rab ki marzi. Talking
about her brief role, she says, “Well, I’ll be making an episodic appearance with
just two scenes. I play a banjaran (gypsy) who predicts the future for
the protagonists Sumer (Neil Bhatt) and Sunaina (Neha
Marda). I’ve returned to India recently and have started looking for
work. This was the first offer and that’s why I took it up.”
So,
what is it that had kept her away from television all this while? “I
had gone on a 60-day trip to US and Canada to perform for my play Mastima marriage,
marriage ma masti. This is the first time that I’ve performed for 40 out of
the 60 days. The response was fabulous. It just wasn’t all play but I also got
the opportunity to anchor an annual dance competition ‘Naya Andaz’ in New
Jersey. Arbaaz and Malaika Arora were the judges. I’m really impressed at the
talent that our NRIs possess.”
