Suman and Shatrughan
Sinha are two of the eminent personalities from Bihar. The duo may
not be the best buddies but they surely have tremendous respect for each other.
Though, all this respect will take a backseat when the two reportedly collide
against each other in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. While
Sinha has been a long serving member of the Bhartiya Janata Party, Suman,
after years of persuasion, is said to have finally joined the Congress. It’s now
buzzed that the actor will be competing against his Bollywood friend and BJP leader
Shatrughan for the Patna Saheb Lok Sabha seat. Apparently, Suman’s
mother has reportedly claimed that her son has informed the family of his plans
to contest for Lok Sabha seat from Patna. We tired contacting Shekhar
Suman and even sent him a text but there was no reply. Meanwhile,
if true, Sinha has welcomed Suman’s entry into politics. “I will welcome Shekhar
into the electoral arena if he is interested in joining active politics,” Sinha
told this to a Mumbai daily. Though he commended Shekhar’s switch
to politics, Sinha didn’t miss an opportunity to fire the first salvo.
“I advise my tinsel town colleague to deeply ponder over why and from where
he wants to launch his career. Past experiences have shown that many Bollywood
artistes have been ‘used’ by political parties wanting to cash in on their 'star
value' and later treating them shabbily. One must come into politics only after
proper groundwork,” he chided.
