Ambika
Gandotra is better known as Soniya of Main
Kab Saans Banoongi fame where she plays
the daughter-in-law of Vandana Pathak. As
a Kashmiri it does surprise that she’s given
up on non-veg. Apparently, the sight of
slaughtered animals forced her to give up
on non-veg food. But she’s still enjoying
her food. To know how read on.
Is
food the elixir of life? It’s
not an elixir but definitely an integral
part of my life
Are you a foodie?
Even though I’m diet conscious I love eating
my salads and veg curries
Are you a veg
or non-veg? Post this Shivratri,
I’ve turned into a vegetarian
Favourite cuisine:
Indian
Favourite dish:
Earlier mutton biryani. Now, I like
my salads, rajma chawal
Favourite restaurant:
Indigo, Peshawari, Mainland China, Urban
Tadka
A must at my breakfast
table… Milk in
any form. Be it shakes of
with Bournvita
Sugar or Sugarfree
for my tea/coffee… I never use
low calorie sugar as you never know it might
have some side effect
Lunch generally
consists of… Salads ,
sprouts, curd, chapatti
or chawal, any sabzi
For high tea I
have… glucose biscuits or
rusk
Dinner generally
consists of… salads or soup or
merely a brown bread sandwich
Dessert delights…
Choco mousse royale ice cream, walnut brownie
One thing I can't
resist… any ice cream
My favourtie drink
(non-alcoholic)… Peach ice tea
My favourite drink
(alcoholic)… Bloody Mary cocktail,
beer
For a date I…
start with red wine ,
follow it up veg appetizers and then a light
dinner
At parties I have…
salads
and desserts
Experiment with
food? Not when I’m really hungry.
Usually, I ask the waiter for his suggestion
Most unusual dish
I've tasted… This was at Zodiac
grill and I was a non-vegetarian then. It
was a concoction of brinjal, fish, egg whites
in tartar sauce
On the streets,
I love to have… Paani puri
but
once in a blue moon
One place I would
never eat again… Well, I won’t
name any. If it’s not good food then the
company makes up for it.
Do you cook?
Yes, at times
Your favourite
recipe… I can make good bread/cheese
rolls .
Among the dishes, I can cook soya. I can’t
tell the recipe as it comes to me spontaneously
at the time of cooking. It’s basically involved
adding few things here and there. Right
now, I’m hungry so I better head to the
kitchen.
