REAL action to begin soon

The wait has been really long but it will come to an end soon. Come this March, viewers will finally get to see some ‘REAL’ TV. So claim the custodians of newest GEC in town. So for the moment, all eyes will be on this new GEC, which today unveiled three of its shows – Poker Face, Vicky Ki Taxi and Hindi Hai Hum.

Produced by Miditech, Poker Face is an internationally acclaimed game show and it now reaches Indian shores. A participant can walk away with Rs.1.crore in just seven days. For the first time in a quiz show, it does not matter how many answers you get right, you can still be in with a chance of winning the jackpot of Rs. 1 crore if you can keep a Poker Face. As reported earlier, Poker Face will be hosted by Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi. The show will air seven days a week.

Poker Face may be new to India but Indian viewers have got a taste of a similar concept in the popular show Bluffmaster which was aired on Star One.

Speaking on his new role, Sharman says, “I am absolutely delighted to be hosting Poker Face. In this show, it is the contestant who takes the centre-stage and my role is to put them at ease and help them navigate the game. What is unique and attractive about this show is the fact that it brings out extraordinary capabilities of ordinary people like you and me.”

Vicky Ki Taxi is another show that we reported about. Pawan Shankar marks his return to TV with this hour long weekly show. It is a show where unusual stories unfold in the unique setting of a taxi lovingly called ‘Jaaneman’, with taxi driver Vicky playing the role of the reluctant messiah. Through Vicky the viewer gets a glimpse into the lives of these ordinary people with extraordinary stories.

The third show that was unveiled is Swastik Pictures’ Hindi Hai Hum. This is a heart warming story of Bubbly, the innocent yet confident tourist guide from Nahaan, a small town in Uttaranchal. Spurned by a suitor who wanted an English speaking bride, the story traces Bubbly’s journey to Mumbai to learn English. Bubbly is played by rookie actor Ridhi Dogra.
