Balika Vadhu has taken the nation by storm. Well, it’s just not the couch potatoes but the popularity of this Sphere Origins show extends to the corridor of the Vice President of India. Apparently, Surkeha Sikri, who plays the antagonist Kalyani Devi, got a call from the Vice President’s wife Salma.

It so happened that the Sphere Origin publicist received a call from the Vice President’s office asking for the contact number of Sureka Sikri. Upon questioning, it was learnt that the Vice President’s wife Salma wanted to speak to Surekha.

Confirming the news, Surekha Sikri says, “Yes, I did receive a call from Salma Ansari. We aren’t complete strangers to each other. She likes our show and had a word or two to say on my character. It was a brief conversation.”

We are not surprised. It is indeed some fine acting.
