Cutest couple on Salaam-E-Ishq

With Salaam-E-Ishq on Star One nearing its finale, Tellychakkar catches up with one of the two finalist couples, Parminder Kohli (aka Pammi) and Bhuvan Kohli.

Pammi and Bhuvan have been married for ten years now, and with each passing day, they continue to discover new things about each other. This effervescent couple belongs to the same profession (cabin crew) and has common ways of dealing with life.

So here are Pammi and Bhuvan sharing their experiences on the show with us.

How does it feel to be one of the finalists?

Pammi: It is a good feeling. I have put in a lot of effort. I was not doing tasks for the heck of it. We have put our heart and soul into it.

Bhuvan: Now that the show is coming to an end, I am going to miss being a part of it.

How did Salaam-E-Ishq happen?

Bhuvan: We have a lot of friends in the television industry. The production house was on the lookout for couples for this show, so one of our friends asked us if we would be interested in participating. The rest, as they say, is history.

Has this show brought any kind of change in your relationship with your spouse?

Pammi: It hasn't brought any drastic change, but we have come closer to each other. Generally, both of us are so busy with our work that we hardly get to spend time with each other. We had to take a break from our respective jobs to be on the show, which allowed us spend time with each other.

Bhuvan: I have sensed a few small changes in our equation with each other, but nothing major as we have been together since years.

How was your experience of being on the show?

Pammi: It was an amazing experience being together all the time and doing stuff. The questions that we were asked about each other were like "Who was his favourite teacher in school?" These are the questions we usually don't ask each other or we don't bother to know. But we got to know more about each other through this show.

Bhuvan: My experience on the show was similar to that of being on a holiday where we got to do something creative together.

What is the reaction that you got from your friends and relatives?

Pammi: Every second day, someone or the other would tell our family members 'I saw your daughter on TV' or 'Your sister has participated in a TV show, right?' Recently, I attended a family wedding where people were recognising us as the 'Salaam-E-Ishq couple'. Sometimes I feel really embarrassed when someone recognises us or points to me. Earlier, I thought that it will not be a well-watched show as the participants are commoners. But now, it really feels good that people have watched the show and they recognise us.

Bhuvan: They are very happy. While shooting for the show, we used to sit with our family and discuss things. They all are very happy for us.

What is the most interesting thing you learnt about your spouse after coming on the show?

Pammi: I learnt that he is a very patient person – especially with me. Whenever we failed to perform well, I would get very upset and angry. But he would be very calm and would always be telling me to take it easy.

Bhuvan: I knew her pretty well even before we participated in the show but I learnt how she reacts to different tasks.

What are your future plans?

Pammi: I am an airhostess and he is also a cabin crew member. Since our jobs have erratic timings, we were very clear that we will not have a baby. We did not want our baby to grow up with a nanny. But now I am planning to quit my job and have a baby.
