Ekta Kapoor may have stopped speaking to the media but that does not mean she can stay away from making headlines. And once again she is embroiled in yet another controversy.

Last year, Ekta was accused of ensuring that her protégé Prachi Desai won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2. And now she’s been blamed for throwing her weight behind Anita Hasnandani, who is currently seen in Dancing Queen.

A contestant on condition of anonymity says, “Well, there’s no question about it. Apparently, in an upcoming episode, Sambhavna said that there are some girls here who are getting more support from their friends than the public. That was aimed at Anita. The judges have often acknowledged that Sonali is a better dancer than her mentor Anita. In fact they don’t hesitate in saying that they can’t decide who the mentor is-Anita or Sonali?”

It must be remembered that the contest is between the protégés and not their mentors. Thus it’s the protégée who’ll win. “Yeah, that’s right but Anita’s reputation is at stake,” adds the contestant.

Another accusation that Anita faces is that all protégées have to be commoners and not professional dancers but Sonali is said to be a trained dancer.

Defending herself, Anita says, “Firstly, I want to make it clear that Sonali is not a trained dancer she’s only done theatre. Besides, it’s not the mentor but a protégée who will be crowned Dancing Queen. Lastly, I see no wrong that your friends and family SMS for you. There’s no rule that your friends can’t vote for you.” Anita refused to comment when asked whether Ekta was really instrumental in them succeeding on the show.

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor and Tushar Kapoor, Esha Deol will be the guests for the finale of Dancing Queen on 7 March. The three guests are children of judges Jeetendra and Hema Malini respectively.
