Ganga- Rishi unplugged
A tete e tete with the Kasamh Se couple

Not every on-screen jodi is able to make its way to the hearts of the viewers. Some of the celebrated on-screen couples in recent times are Karan-Nandini (Gauri-Hiten), Kumkum-Sumit (Juhi Parmar-Hussain Kuwajerwala), Tulsi-Mihir Virani (Smriti Irani - Ronit Roy) and Bani-Jay Walia (Prachi Desai - Ram Kapoor).

And now comes yet another couple that is the talk of every TV buff- Ganga and Rishi (Priya-Vishal) of Kasamh Se. This on-screen couple has earned accolades from fans across the globe for their on-screen chemistry. After numerous requests from fans worldwide to interview this jodi Tellychakkar met up with them.

In a free wheeling chat Priya Bhatija and Vishal talk on their on-screen chemistry, their personal equation, Kasamh Se and lots more.

Why do you think you have such amazing on-screen chemistry?
Priya: I knew Vishal even before we started working as a couple on Kasamh Se. Vishal has worked with my sister Harsha in Karam Apnaa Apnaa, wherein she made a cameo appearance. I think it is our comfort level and compatibility that has worked wonders for us.

Vishal: The basic thing that has really helped us is our friendship even before Kasamh Se happened to us. We were very good friends and it really helped us to enact our scenes comfortably. She is extremely supportive an actor.

What is your off-screen equation?
Priya: Oh! We always have fun and masti once the camera is off. He is a very humble human being and we are very alike. We both are very filmy and day-dreamers. He is a very dear friend and very supportive. We sit together and discuss our scenes and try to improvise and rehearse them together.

Vishal: Let me tell you that if on-screen she gets to scold me all the time, off-screen it's me who troubles her the most. I irritate her a lot. Once we had to shoot an accident scene and I had finished shooting the first sequence which didn't require her. I had blood all over my face and hands. Suddenly there was a power cut at and the shooting came to a halt. I went to Priya's vanity van and switched on my mobile. Seeing my face she started screaming and crying as she thought that I was actually bleeding and ultimately gathered the whole unit around the van. It was absolute fun to see that expression of horror and shock on her face.

What is that one quality about each other that you like most?
Priya: As an actor Vishal is very supportive and as an individual he is just like me.

Vishal: As an actor Priya is damn supportive and is very open about the scenes. She is a great human being. She gets home-cooked food for me. Whenever I feel lazy and don't wish to report for the shoot, she would drag me from home.

Tell us about your real life partners?
Priya: Jatin is completely different from me and is not at all filmy. I think this is why they say that opposites attract. If you ask me to define Jatin in one sentence then I would say that he is down-to-earth, simple and very understanding.

Vishal: I am still single. Proneeta Sahu is my very good friend and was opposite me in Kuchh Is Tara. She is my best friend and if I am not shooting I spend time with her. Initially we thought that there was more to our relationship than being just friends and we tried to take it forward. But just after a couple of months of dating, we both realised that we are better off as friends.

Tell us about the new Bani (Gurdeep Kohli) of Kasamh Se?
Priya: Gurdeep is a great actor and is always ready to help her co-artists. She keeps advising you on how to improve your scenes.

Vishal: I simple adore Gurdeep since her Sanjeevani days. She is a wonderful and amazing actress. I hail from Bhatinda and she is a Punjabi so I think we hit it off instantly due to our Punjabi connection. Whenever we meet she asks me to speak in Punjabi. We sing Punjabi songs together. I think only two out of 10 shows work even after the leap and changes in the lead faces.

What do you have to say about Ram Kapoor?
Priya: I call him 'Dadu' even off screen. And does he mind it? No ways.. He is cool about it.

Vishal: This is the first time I am confessing that I am a huge fan of Ram Kapoor. I still fear shooting with him as he is a brilliant actor. I can't take my eyes off him when he is enacting his scenes. Off the screen he is a gem of a person.

What do you have to say about the recent dip in the TRPs of Kasamh Se?
Priya: Ups and downs are part and parcel of the game. Infact, last month the show was number one on Zee. We are talking about Kasamh Se which has been running consistently for the past three years and has recently bagged the award for the best ongoing show. I agree that currently the TRPs are not very encouraging but we are working hard to achieve the desired results. I can assure you that with the upcoming tracks we would be able to regenerate and restore the viewership.

Vishal: Every show has to have its ups and downs. Things that go up have to come down. Having said that we are not lying low as far as the upping of TRPs is concerned. As humans we do make mistakes but now we are all set to correcting them. We are working hard to make the show reach the numero uno position once again.

Who is your favourite actor on the show?
Priya: Ashwini Kalsekar aka Jigyaasa is my favourite co-star on Kasamh Se.
Vishal: It has to be Ram Kapoor, Priya Bhatija and Gurdeep Kohli. It would be a difficult task to name one actor on the show as the entire cast is like my extended family.

Given a chance would you like to work with each other again?
Priya: I would love to work with Vishal again as this would mean double the masti and fun.

Vishal: Oh! anytime.

Where would you rate each other on a scale of 10?
Priya: For his acting talent I would give him 8.5 and as a person I would give him 8.

Vishal: I would give her 9.5 both as an actor and as a human.

Which according to you is the most favourite scene with each other?

Priya: The scene where he teaches me to how to eat paani-puri remains my all-time favourite. Currently my favourite scenes are the ones where I keep scolding him and he keeps on sobbing. I think I was fed up of crying and now I have got an opportunity to make someone else cry on the show.

Vishal:
The accident scene is my most favourite scene with Priya. We had worked really hard for it. I remember Priya was in that car which had turned upside down for two hours at a stretch. It was very difficult as we had to show that her legs had got stuck in the car and that she couldn't move. I think she had done a brilliant job in that scene.
