After running successfully for one and a half years, Shakuntalam Telefilms’ Santaan, that airs on Star Plus, is coming to an end. The show will breathe its last on 20 March.

Says a source, “The show is going off-air and the last episode will telecast on 20 March. The basic reason is that of late the show hasn’t been able to meet the expectations of the channel. With some serious competition from other channels it was only appropriate to end the show. At the end of the day one must not forget that TRP decides the fate of the show.”

Confirming the news, actor Diwakar Pundir, who plays Parikshit Dixit on the show said, “Yes, the show is coming to an end. We were informed about this development today.”

Producer Neelima Bajpai was unavailable for comment.
