Smita Bansal, aka Sumitra of Balika Vadhu, was in for a surprise on Friday evening. Next day was her birthday and Smita had no plans of shooting as she was looking to a couple of days off. Unfortunately, poor Smita had no option but to come for the shoot.

"I was in a bad mood when I came to know that I had to be there at the shoot,” said the actress.

Smita must have thought this would turn out to be another routine day. However, the creative head and supervising producer had planned something else.

Recalling the incident, she says, "Exactly at mid night, I saw a huge cake being brought to the table and then I understood the whole funda. I was pleasantly surprised to see my husband and my daughter on the sets.”

Adding further she says, “I am extremely thankful to all the people who were involved in this pleasant surprise and a special thanks to my creative head and the entire production team for showing their love and gratitude towards me. I never expected they would contact me and call my husband as well. On seeing him and my daughter I just could not control my emotions. It was a truly wonderful experience and a life long remembering birthday, “
