Were you also wondering (as we were) where the cast of Teen Bahuraaniyan has disappeared?

Well, do not wonder any more – at least not about one of the most prominent faces on the show – Meenakshi Sethi. Meenakshi was busy shooting for Aloo Chaat, which also marks the Bollywood debut of Aamna Shariff. Best known as Indira Gheewala from Teen Bahuraaniyan, the actress will be seen playing Aftab Shivdasani’s mother in the movie. The movie is all set to release on March 13.

Meenakshi who plays a typical Punjabi woman informs, “I am playing the role of a typical Punjabi lady Sito. I play Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s wife and Aftab’s mother. Sito fears her husband and son. She doesn’t want to disappoint them at any cost and so, is very adjusting and compromising. Sito is a very timid person.”

So isn’t this completely in contrast to her character in Teen Bahuraaniyan? “My character in Teen Bahuraaniyan was a very bold character. Indira Gheewala was a very dominating lady. But I am more like Sito in real life. I always think of my husband before doing anything. I also want to keep my children happy always. I am not at all dominating”, replies Meenakshi.

Does this mean that the actress has bid adieu to television? “I will never quit television as it has brought me popularity world-wide,” avers the actress. “I was overwhelmed with the response I got from people when I had once travelled abroad. It is my character on TV that has made me popular.”

Meenakshi, however, is no newcomer to Bollywood. She was earlier seen in Rang De Basanti and Zindaggi Rocks.
