Be it for a generation leap or for a new show, production houses and channels prefer new faces. New faces not just to play second fiddle, but also the lead roles. One such show is Endemol’s Mere Ghar Aayi Laadli, which will soon be launched on Star Plus with fresh faces.

Informs a source from the production house, “The channel and production house is concentrating on tapping new talent. That’s how we have some promising new faces on the show. Our lead Shivshakti is totally new to the industry and we have two leads opposite her. Their character names will be Sharvan and Amrit. Their entries in the show will be something to watch out for. The role of Sharvan is being played by Kunal Kucchal.”

Talking about the actress who will be paired with veteran actor Kanwaljeet Singh, our source says, “The production house auditioned a lot of actresses, but Shailley Kaushik was the most impressive of them all. Shailley who hails from Delhi was earlier seen in a small role in some show. The entire cast and crew will be flying down to Delhi for the shoot in the first week of March.”

“As per the latest development, the show is all set to launch on March 9. The time slot, though, is not yet confirmed. But it is rumoured that it will occupy a slot before 9:00 PM or after 10:00 PM.,” concludes our source.

When contacted, Deepak Dhar, Endemol India Country Head, said, “I can’t comment on it.”
