This
is the first time in the history of Indian
Idol that two girls have reached the
finals. And there is a lot of discussion
going on everywhere about it. Will the Indian
crown rest on a pretty shoulder this time?
In another 24 hours we should be able to
know when Torsha and Saurabhee battle it
out against Kapil in the finals. While Kapil
has been Mr Consistent, the girls have been
better off in terms of overall performance
in the recent past. Tellychakkar spoke to
the winners and popular participants of
the last few seasons of Indian Idol 4
to find out who they feel will win the title
this time.
Prashant Tamang:
As all of you are aware, I come from a
police background. This time, Kapil
is also from the Army background and I would
like to support him wholeheartedly. I know
how difficult it is to sing and try to make
a career in singing if you are from the
force. Hats off to Kapil for coming so far
and I pray that he wins the contest. I feel,
if for any reason he cannot win, it will
be Saurabhee. However, I have not
been voting this time as I am busy with
my commitments.
Prajakta Shukre:
Finally the time has come when a girl will
win Indian Idol. When I participated
in Indian Idol, Aditi (Pal) and I
had reached the Top 10 list and everyone
appreciated our voices and crooning abilities
a lot. But for some reason, those days people
never voted for female participants and
thought they could never win or become a
good singer. And thus we lost out. But the
situation is different this time. I feel
Saurabhee should win the title because
she sings and interacts with the audience
very well.
Rahul Vaidya:
Unfortunately my favourite contestant Rajdeep
Chatteree did not make it to the finals.
I felt he was the contestant who deserved
to win this year. But among the current
three, I feel Kapil is the best.
But that does not mean the others are bad.
I feel it will be a neck to neck contest
with Kapil having a slight edge over others.
Deepali:
After seeing the three finalists in Indian
Idol, I feel viewers are going to see
a girl winner this time. I will be supporting
Saurabhee and feel she should win.
If it is not her, I feel Kapil should
win because he is the only participant who
has improved in every episode through sheer
hard work. Just for the kind of effort he
has put in, Kapil should win it.
Amit Sana:
Unfortunately, due to my current commitments,
I have not been able to follow this season’s
Indian Idol closely. But I have heard
that the girl from North-East – Saurabhee
has come a long way. I could manage to see
Saurabhee perform in a couple of
episodes and found that she is someone who
can make you really happy through her songs.
I feel that is a great talent for a singer
to have.
Amit Paul:
I think Saurabhee will win. She
can entertain and enthrall her audience
by singing and also has the X-factor. This
is a unique quality some singers have. And
those who have it need to be given the extra
help and support. Though I am not voting,
my sister is more than making up for me!
