In the coming days, Ghar Ek Sapnaa will be flooded with the presence of many actors. Some are old while a few are new. Prominent among the new faces will be Ali Merchant.

When contacted Ali said, “Yes I have been offered to play a pivotal role but I haven’t signed on the dotted line as yet.”

Confirming the news producer Sangeeta Sinha says, “Ali will be playing the character of Ansh. Well be introducing a new family – the Vermas. Shlok Verma (Mahesh Shetty) is the head of the family. Ansh is his younger brother. The Vermas are here to avenge the loss of their father. Amarnath (Alok Nath) had an affair with Ansh and Shlok’s mother. Learning this, their father gets depressed, takes to alcohol and eventually dies. The Vermas are here to avenge this loss. Ansh is likely to get married to Kakul (Anisha Kapoor).”

Ali also told us that he will be making an episodic appearance in the newly launched show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. “I’m making a guest appearance in Yeh Rishta Kya… This episode will air on Monday, 9 February.”
