A new show titled Piya Ka Aangan is coming up on DD1. It is a family drama that will air in the afternoon slot.

A source from the show informs, “Piya Ka Aangan is the story of two rival families where a girl and a boy from these families fall in love with each other. It is a Green Communications production that will air on DD1. It is a daily that will telecast at 12 pm from Feb 16. Senior actors like Rajeev Verma, Amita Nangia, Yusuf Hussain and Vineeta Mallik are playing the parents. Lead roles are being played by new comers Hemangi Kavi and Raunak Ahuja.”

Rajeev Verma said, “The team is good to work with. My character has different shades. I will be coming back on Doordarshan after a long time so I am excited.”

Producer Jagmohan Bhawar was unavailable to comment.

Writer and director of the show, Manoj Kotiyal said, “We got only a month’s notice for the show to go on air. It was very hectic creating episodes to launch the show. We have made many other shows for DD1 and all these shows have been TRP leaders on the channel.”
