Tony and Deeya Singh are known to party hard. Last night they had every reason to rejoice. DJ’s recently launched show Choti Bahu has been rated as the number one fiction show on Zee TV. As per the recent TAM ratings, Choti Bahu drew an average TRP of 2.9 in the week ranging from 5 to 11 January.

An average TRP of 2.9 may not sound enough especially, considering the heights that Bidaai and Balika Vadhu are touching, but for a show that’s barely a month old and airing at 7.30 pm slot, it’s quite a remarkable achievement. The irony though here is that if a 7.30 pm show is rated number one then it reflects the below par performance of the following prime time shows on Zee. However, Tony and Deeya are least concerned with it. This is their night of celebration.

The saas-bahus are on the decline, so what is it that has tilted the scale in favour of Choti Bahu? An elated Deeya Singh says, “Above all, it’s the divine blessings. The USP of our show is the simplicity in its story telling. Besides, we have a nice crop of actors. The two combine to make a successful show.”

Now that it’s generating high ratings at 7.30 pm, would you like to be shifted to a better time slot? “Not at all. This slot is working for us so why will we want a change now,” Deeya replies.

Right said Deeya, one should never change the winning formula.
