Rajiv Nigam, the stand-up comedian won the Lions Gold Awards where he was adjudged as the comedian of the year.

An elated Rajiv says, “Though I might have missed out on Laughter Challenge, I consider this (Lions Award) a bigger triumph. Here’s there no audience or SMS voting. It is the jury who pick the winner. I’m glad that after years of toil, my talent has finally been appreciated.”

Rajiv is also the man who used to write scripts for Shekhar Suman in Movers & Shakers. In 2008, Rajiv Nigam had impressed all with his hilarious acts in Comedy Circus 2. Though he didn’t win, Rajiv and his partner Rajesh Kumar drew plaudit from all. “Throughout Comedy Circus 2, we were admired for our content. That we didn’t win is another tale, But I don’t to want delve into the past. I want to enjoy this triumph,’ Rajiv sighs.

The 15th Lions Gold Awards were held on 14 January, 2009 in Mumbai.
