Our Lord Ram (Gurmeet Choudhary) is furious. So what is it that has Gurmeet fuming? Apparently, Gurmeet and Debina Bonnerjee (Sita) were left red faced after they found cockroaches in their SUBWAY sandwiches. They now plan to file a suit against the international fast food restaurant franchise.

Talking about this ugly incident, Gurmeet says, “Last evening at around 4.00 pm, we were in Juhu and feeling really hungry. So, we decided to eat at SUBWAY. We placed an order for two vegetable sandwiches and two cold coffees. While at the table, I saw some moving object in Debina’s tray. Upon closer look, I was shocked to find that it was a cockroach that was draped in sauce. When we looked into the bread, there were two more dead cockroaches inside it. Luckily, I spotted the roaches at the right time as Debina was about to eat her sandwhich.”

Adding further, he says “Immediately, we brought this to the notice of the staff but rather than being apologetic they merely shrugged it off saying that the restaurant recently had gone in for a pest control. Not once did any one of them said sorry to us.”

So are you contemplating taking legal action against SUBWAY?

“We took back our cash but I wasn’t prepared to let go of this folly. After all, SUBWAY is an international joint. I’ve decided to file a suit against them in the Food and Drug court. We wanted to do that last evening only but we had a flight to catch to Baroda. Upon my return, I will file the case. People eat at SUBWAY because it’s said to be healthy and hygienic. I myself am a regular customer. But if this how they serve, then some action needs to be taken,” Gurmeet replied.

We called at the Juhu SUBWAY but after being in denial mode for a while, their floor manager Floyd finally admitted to such an incident taking place. “Yes, it’s an unfortunate thing that has happened. We apologised to the customer and even offered to replace the sandwiches. We had pest control done the previous night. The roaches didn’t come from the food counter. They must have crept from the table where the duo was sitting. We’d like to offer a public apology to Gurmeet and Debina.”
