After
the A-listers of Bollywood like SRK, Akshay
to Salmaan hosting shows on various channels
now comes in the talented Sharman Joshi.
He will be seen hosting a show based on
the popular UK game show titled Poker
Face. The Indian version too is tentatively
titled Poker Face and will air on
Miditech’s upcoming channel.
Informs
a source, “Sharman is hosting the game show
tentatively titled Poker Face. The
show resembles Bluff Master which
aired on Star One. Sharman has currently
shot for 14 episodes and depending on the
outcome it could be extended.”
We tried contacting Niret Alva, Miditech
co-founder, but he remained unavailable.
Sources suggest that the channel titled
Real (for now) will launch sometime in February.
About the game: In the UK version, Poker
Face is based on the bluffing aspect
of poker games. The contestants do not necessarily
need to get the questions right in order
to win, and can bluff their way through
the game and pressure their opponents into
folding in order to win. There are 8 multiple
choice questions worth £500 each.
After the answer to each question is revealed,
viewers at home can see which contestants
got it right or wrong by a series of ticks
and crosses appearing on the pictures of
each contestant. At the end of each round,
viewers at home see the leader-board, and
more importantly, who's in last place. The
host then asks the contestants in turn how
they think they did in that round. After
the round is over the face-off begins.
Let’s see if the desi version is as riveting
as the original.
