There is lots happening in Sphere Origin’s Grihasthi and now the show is going to introduce two new characters in the show. Actress Roma and Mamta Luthra will be introduced as Pankaj Kalra aka Lucky Kapoor’s wife and mother respectively. Roma Navani will essay the character of Dolly Kapoor in the show. If sources are to be believed then the role was originally offered to actress Nupur Alankaar but things didn’t materialise.

According to a source from the show, “This is a con-family and now we are introducing Pankaj aka Lucky Kapoor’s wife and mother. Roma’s character in the show is loosely based on Archana Puran Singh’s character in Bollywood flick Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. The Kapoor family will make their way into the Khurana family (the central family of the show) and will con them for money. They are also eyeing the Khurana mansion. Their entry will bring in new twists and turns in the story.”

“The role of Dolly Kapoor was initially offered to actress Nupur Alankaar but she refused the role due to money issues and later the production house roped in Roma to essay the character,” concludes another source from the show.

When contacted Nupur confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I was offered the role but I had to refuse it.”

Roma and Mamta’s entry will be aired tomorrow, Wednesday, 21 January at 2:30 p.m. on Star Plus.
