The
eighth season of American Idol returns.
It will telecast on Star World. The show
that has spawned global pop sensations such
as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and
Taylor Hicks, starts its search across America
to find the next American Idol.
American
Idol 8 will begin from 15 January at
11.00pm on Star World. The jury table will
have Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi
as a fourth judge. Award-winning artists
including Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera,
Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Carrie
Underwood, Santana and Pink have recorded
her songs. Simon Cowell returns to head
up the panel of judges that include pop
singer and choreographer Paula Abdul and
record producer and music manager Randy
Jackson. The effervescent Ryan Sea crest
will continue to assume his duties as host
making sure the judges are kept in check.
Simon Cowell said, “We are turning the
heat up on Idol this year and are
thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’
table. She is smart, sassy lady and one
of America's most successful songwriters.
We know she will bring a new level of energy
and excitement to the show.”
Being a part of a hit series is everyone’s
dream come true. Commenting on her association
with American Idol 8, Kara explains,
“I’m flattered and excited that they asked
me to join, I have watched the show for
years and always get a kick out of the judges.
I’m pretty tough at times, but it depends
on the contestants.”
Last year, 25-year-old rocker David Cook
defeated teen heartthrob David Archuleta
to be crowned American Idol. To know
who will take home the American Idol
8 title this year, tune into Star World
from 15 January.
