Qazi
Touqeer is currently slogging it out in Sarkaar Ki Duniya. However,
a bigger threat awaits him in the real world. This comes in the form of producer
Nazim Rizvi filing a case against him for not honouring his contract.
After
winning Fame
Gurukul, the singer and actor
had signed a contract for three films with
Rizvi’s Whispering Shadows Entertainment.
However, Touqeer vanished after nearly completing
the first film Take off. Apparently,
Rizvi was shocked when he saw the actor
in Real TV show Sarkaar
Ki Duniya. Rizvi has now
filed case against Touqeer, Real TV and
Miditech – the producers of Sarkaar Ki
Duniya.
Rizvi says,
“In 2007 Qazi signed a contract with us for three films. The first film titled
as Take Off is ninety per cent complete. The actor was needed for the rehearsal
of a song but he fell ill and we admitted him to the hospital. Doctors advised
him a bed rest of 3 months. Recently we called him again for the song but he wasn’t
available and we were told that he is out of town. But I was shocked when on 2
March somebody called me up to tell me that Qazi is doing a show called Sarkar
Ki Duniya on Real TV.” “This is appalling as I wasn’t aware
of the whole thing. There is a mention about my film on the site of Sarkar
Ki Duniya which I happen to check. This means that the producers were aware
that Qazi was doing my film and hence on moral grounds they should have approached
me before taking him onboard. There was a hearing two days ago but Qazi didn’t
make it. A representative of Real TV was present at the hearing. The next hearing
is on 17 April. I demand that he’s removed immediately from the show”, concludes
Nazim. Sunil Lulla, director, Real Global Broadcasting, said, “Whispering
Shadows Entertainment had applied for ad interim injunction for broadcasting of
Sarkaar Ki Duniya. This injunction was refused by the court.” Sonaji
Nagre, lawyer of Nazim Rizvi, informs, “We have lodged a complaint against Qazi,
Real TV and Miditech production. We demand that the show should not be aired anymore.
Qazi was contractually bound by us. The contract stated that he cannot appear
anywhere else before completing our three movies. The nature of the case is civil
and currently is in City Civil Court. We are now planning to move the Mumbai High
Court. The hearing of the same is on 17 April.” Qazi Touqeer was
unavailable for comment.
