Kirtika to play Jhansi Ki Rani

Innovative 9’s dream project which as of now is titled Jhansi Ki Rani has got its main lead in Kirtika. This Mumbai girl is a relative newbie and is currently learning how to use arms and don an armour. Child actress Ayesha who is undergoing the same training will play the younger Lakshmi Bai. The shooting of the same is going to commence from tomorrow.

Informs a source from the show, “As we all know Rani Lakshmi Bai started riding horses at the tender age of 8 and mastered the art of using swords. Kartika is undergoing strenuous training wherein she is learning horse-riding. Fight master Hanif is training the girl to become a pro in using swords and riding horses. Other actors who are being considered for key roles are Amit Pachauri and Vishnu Sharma.”

Talking about the title of the show, our source informs, “Going by the current scenario we would not be able to use the title as it is already been registered. As of now we are planning to mix tales of Rani Lakshmi Bai and the unsung warrior Begum Hazrat Mahal. Not many people know about Hazrat Mahal who too was a celebrated warrior of her times who made life hell for the British. If the two stories are clubbed then the production house will rope in another lead to play Hazrat Mahal. The story may undergo some change and the titles currently under contemplation are Do Raniyan or Bharat Ki Do Betiyaan.”

“As of now the show is expected to air in the primetime slot but the launch date is not finalised. One has to tread cautiously with new projects especially with IPL nearing,” adds our source.
