Poonam Jatau, who was admitted in a Lucknow hospital on Saturday for an alleged suicide attempt, has now been discharged from the hospital.

Confirming the news, Kamruddin, head constable, Aliganj police station, says, “We’ve learnt today that Poonam was discharged from hospital last night. The family managed to avoid the media and the police. Her condition is said to be absolutely stable.”

When asked about a possible case of attempt to suicide being levied against Jatau, Kamruddin replied, “As I told you before, was waiting for the doctor’s report but that hasn’t been submitted to us. This is a very sensitive issue. A family’s pride is at stake thus it looks unlikely that there’ll be any investigation in the matter. Her health is fine and she’s likely to resume her job as Booking Clerk at the DRM office in Hazratganj.”
