Money. That's what drives everyone in the final analysis, whether in the glamour world of acting or the hard grind of scripting and producing. Cashin' In sits down with TV celebs to know well they handle their financial matters, and tracks their spending patterns.

Co-incidentally Tellychakkar called Gagan Malik (Veer of Shakuntala) to chat about money matters just as he was withdrawing money from the ATM. Read on to know what money means for the actor and how he deals with it.

How important is money for you?

It’s very important, without money nothing is possible in life.

Money is very essential but is not everything in life. It’s another story that nowadays even to fall in love you need enough money in your pocket.

Who handles your expenses?

I handle my expenses on my own.

Are you an impulsive shopper?

No, I am not at all an impulsive buyer, I think ten times before buying anything. Only if it fits my budget I buy it, if not then I save for it.

What are the investments you have made?

I have insurance in many banks. I will not reveal everything but yes I can say that I don’t believe in the share market due to its volatile nature. I always play safe.

How much money do you carry every day?

I always have Rs 1000-1500 and besides that I also carry my credit cards. In today’s era plastic money is more in demand.

What was your first salary? What did you do with it?

I can’t disclose my first salary as I was working on a per day basis. But yes, once I received a cheque of Rs 90,000 and with that I bought a refrigerator for my rented flat and also paid my debts.

What is your advice for investors?

Invest safely and cautiously and save for the rain day by keeping aside a little from your monthly income.
