Vij celebrates her birthday on All fool’s day. That’s no joke. A few days back
Vij’s sari caught fire. Well, this too isn’t meant to be an April 1 joke.
In fact, such freak accidents are a regular feature on the sets of Shubh Kadam,
a show where Vij plays the lead. Talking
about this accident, Mahi
Vij says, “This happened five days ago. In this particular sequence,
Pratha finds herself in a den which is lit by diyas (oil lamps). I was
wearing a silk sari. I didn’t realise when my sari got in contact
with one of these burning diyas. When reality dawned upon me, all I said
was fire fire! I went all cold. Luckily, our assistant director Shivendu quickly
jumped to my rescue. The poor chap used his hands to extinguish the fire. In the
process, he’s suffered burns. I’m grateful to him for saving my life.”
According to Vij, such freak accidents are a common feature. “These things
keep happening on our sets. Last time around, a cutter stand had fallen on me.
We just get up and resume with our shoot.” Here’s wishing Vij a
happy birthday in advance and hope she stay clear of any danger on 1 April. After
all, if any toward incident was to happen on All fool’s day, there won’t be many
takers for this tale!
