Wednesday morning all of us will be on guard till the time the clock strikes 12. The reason? It is All Fool’s day and being slightly inattentive may result in being fooled by someone we may or may not know.

The television stars are no different. They will also be on guard till noon on April 1, while trying their best to play a prank on someone simultaneously. Tellychakkar spoke to some of the telestars to find out about the pranks they have played till now.

Abhinav Shukla:

I love playing pranks! Let me tell you about one I played on a friend recently. Few years back, we had planned a get-together at my place on April 1. When I called up this friend of mine, I thought of playing a prank and changed my voice to make it sound like a girl. I told him that I was a girl who had come from the UK and wanted to meet him at a pre-designated spot. He agreed to meet the ‘girl’ after some time. Needless to say we also went there and again called him. I changed my voice, made it sound like the girl and asked him where he was and the fact that I could not see him! He responded saying that he was there and was raising his left hand. I said, that I still could not see him and asked him to raise both his hands, and then stand on top of his car since I could not see him! He did all that and more before we came into the picture and told him that he had been taken for a ride on All Fool’s Day! Thankfully he took it sportingly.

Deepa Parab:

While I like the concept of April Fool a lot, there is no single incident that I remember! But we do play a lot of pranks within the family. And most of it has something to do with the phone! There are innumerable incidents where someone in the family has told the other person that there is a call on the landline for him/her, while there was no such call.

Sneha Wagh:

I am a well known prankster! When we were kids, a very common prank on April 1 was to get hold of a plastic toy lizard and leaving it on my Mom! She is very scared of lizards and would start panicking at the sight of a lizard. For her to see a lizard, albeit a plastic one, on her body was nothing short of a calamity. She would start shouting and screaming for help and only after we convinced her that it was a plastic toy, would she calm down! As kids, watching our mother get so scared about a small plastic lizard was great fun.

Mazhar Sayed:

People often refer to me as a prankster! But trust me, all the pranks I play are innocuous! Even if I do something harmful, I am not going to share it with the readers, right? (smiles) I will always remember one prank I played on my friends, while in college. I told them that the coming Wednesday (which was April 1 that year) is my birthday. Everyone believed me, since they were not aware of my birthday. A number of them got gifts for me as well. That is when I started feeling bad. Though I love playing pranks, the fact that they had spent money to buy gifts for me meant a lot. I took all of them out for a treat.

Shilpa Shinde:

April Fool was a rage amongst us during my college days. There were so many instances where we played pranks on our classmates and sometimes managed to make them angry also! There are so many incidents that it is difficult to single out one. I always tried to be the first one to fool someone during my college days! Now it is different. I am always alert so that I am not the first one to be fooled! Thankfully, this time I am out of Mumbai and most probably will not be the first one to be fooled!

Arjun Bijlani:

I like to play pranks a lot. There are many incidents related to the pranks I have played on All Fool’s Day, but there are few which I will never forget. Specially the one involving my mother and a close friend. My mother is very scared of bikes and is very tense every time she sees me close to a bike. On this particular day she got a call from my friend who ‘informed’ her about me riding a bike. Immediately my mother started thinking of all weird consequences and started panicking on the phone. Things reached such a stage that I had to personally come there and calm her down!

However, the converse of this is also true. Even if we hear of something genuine that has happened, we treat it with an eye of suspicion just because it has happened on April 1!

Aanchal Dwivedi:

Though I have not managed to play a prank on anyone after coming in this industry, I have been at the receiving end a number of times! And most of the time it has been none other than Mazhar Sayed – my on-screen husband.
