Pratap (Jehangir Vakil) may have died but his death is bringing unbridled joy to Balika Vadhu and more so to Colors. Last Friday’s hour long episode of Balika Vadhu (27 February) has recorded a mind-boggling TRP of 10 – the highest by any fiction show in the last one year. With this Balika Vadhu has regained the no.1 spot.

In the latest TAM ratings Star Plus still heads the chart with 305 GRPs while Colors is just one GRP behind.

So, is it death that has done the trick for Balika?

“It’s not the death but it’s the show that has won over the viewers. I’m not surprised by this development as Balika.. has been making a steady progress. Once you do that, such growth is expected. We’ve set a new standard but it also brings in added responsibility. We need to ensure that we now live up to these standards,” says producer Sunjoy Waddhwa.

Now that the bar has been raised what can we expect more from Balika Vadhu?

“Expect more surprises. That’s been the beauty of our show. For now though, we’d like to celebrate our success,” Waddhwa replied.
