MUMBAI : Adah Sharma, known for her roles in Hindi and Telugu cinema, made a memorable debut in 2008 with the supernatural horror film 1920. The movie, directed by Vikram Bhatt, was a commercial success, and Adah quickly rose to stardom. Recently, she shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes experience from her debut film that has caught everyone's attention.

In one of the scenes from 1920, Adah Sharma's character is depicted eating a cat, a moment that startled viewers. However, Adah, being a vegetarian, revealed that the cat she was shown eating was fake. She explained that despite her dietary preferences, she couldn't refuse the scene as it was essential for the script.

Director Vikram Bhatt wanted the scene to appear authentic, so he instructed Adah to eat the fake cat as if it were a delicious dish. He wanted the audience to feel the eerie nature of the scene, emphasizing the importance of making the sound of eating to enhance its realism. Adah mentioned that while shooting horror scenes, the atmosphere often felt comical, but the intention was to evoke fear in the audience.

1920, loosely inspired by the 1973 horror film The Exorcist, revolves around a married couple who encounters supernatural occurrences after moving into a haunted mansion. The film featured debutantes Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma in lead roles, with Indraneil Sengupta making a special appearance.

The success of 1920 led to the creation of a film series, with a sequel titled 1920: The Evil Returns released in 2012. Adah's convincing portrayal in 1920 garnered praise, establishing her as a promising talent in the industry.

In her latest outing, The Kerala Story, Adah Sharma delivered a notable performance, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film delves into the harrowing experiences of a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into joining the Islamic State.

Despite the spooky and challenging scenes she has tackled in her career, Adah Sharma continues to captivate audiences with her talent and dedication to her craft.
