Vakani grew up in Bhavnagar, Gujarat,[1] where her father Bhim Vakani was a noted personality of Gujarati theatre, and she started acting in plays as a child actor. After her schooling, she graduated in the Dramatic arts from Gujarat College in Ahmedabad. She lives in Kandivli, Mumbai.[2] Mayur Vakani who plays the character of Sundarlal, Daya's brother in the serial, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is her real brother. She is not married yet and waiting for the right person in her life.
