Born on 4 February 1961, Raj Zutshi is grandson to Dina Nath Zutshi, who was a radio & TV artiste. He made the transition from theatre to cinema in 1984 with the film Holi. He married Aamir Khan's sister, Nuzhat, daughter of producer-director-writer Nasir Hussain and mother of Imran Khan. Raj and Nuzhat divorced in 2006.
