MUMBAI: Last week, I had an opportunity to invite television’s extremely popular face Erica Fernandes for our show, Share And Grow Spotlight. She has been a part of our team Chennai Swaggers in box cricket league for the last two years and I have always seen her quiet and reticent.  Her calm demeanour and no-nonsense attitude is awe-inspiring.

To say her show “Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi” was popular would be an understatement. Her popularity can be judged from the fact that even one picture of Erica in our ‘Fan-tastic’ segment (where fans are supposed to ask questions) can pop up close to 100 questions in less than 24 hours. Despite such a huge fan following, she is very grounded and is a simple person.

Her father, unfortunately, became ill when she was young and she had to take over the reigns in her hands along with her mother, which I feel is the reason she is incredibly self-reliant and independent today. Her YouTube channel (which caters to 5million subscribers) focuses on teaching that independence and individuality through DIY videos. I believe each individual has to go through one transformational incident in his / her life to grow beyond his/her limits. That incident tests you and stretches you to your utmost potential. Above one was for Erica.

We also played a game called ‘Spill @ First Sight’ where she was supposed to answer 17-word association sentences only in 60 seconds (a rapid-fire round). I adore the honesty in her answers in this segment. She spoke about self-love (that she has just started to abide by), a very big heart that speaks volumes about her generosity, and most importantly, about forgiveness which I feel holds a very important part in our lives.

We all tend to hold on to a barrage of emotions against people& not let it go.

I keep sayin
