After Scam 1992, Hansal Mehta to return with Scam 2003

MUMBAI: A while ago, a web show based on India’s biggest financial fraud, committed by Harshad Mehta, titled Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story premiered on SonyLIV. The series was loved by all, and leading man Pratik Gandhi and the storytelling and screenplay were much appreciated. The series created history in terms of ratings and views in the OTT world.

And now, the makers are back with another story in the scam series, titled Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi. Production banner Applause Entertainment on Thursday announced that the company is set to launch a second season in the popular franchise, which will feature the story of the 2003 Stamp Paper Scam by Abdul Karim Telgi.

The upcoming show will focus on the case of Abdul Karim Telgi, who was a convicted Indian counterfeiter. He earned money by printing counterfeit stamp paper in India.

This show will be adapted from the Hindi book Reporter Ki Diary, authored by journalist and news reporter Sanjay Singh, who is credited with breaking the story of the scam back then. Like Scam 1992, this show too will premiere on SonyLIV and will be directed by Hansal Mehta.
