MUMBAI: Actor and acting coach Saurabh Sachdeva has been roped in for Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's upcoming web show titled Dongri To Dubai.
He received critical acclaim for his character Suleiman Isa in the Netflix series Sacred Games in 2018. He has also played interesting roles in films like Manmarziyaan and Laal Kaptaan.
Dongri To Dubai will chronicle the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia.
Featuring Avinash Tiwary, Kay Kay Menon, Jitin Gulati, Amyra Dastur and Kritika Kamra. The series is directed by Shujaat Saudagar of Rock On 2 fame.
The show went on floor just before the pandemic wreaked havoc. In mid-May 2020 the show’s set at Madh island Mumbai was demolished as it was unused during the lockdown period. However, the shooting resumed sometime back.
Dongri To Dubai will have a ten-episode season one and it will most likely get launched on Netflix.
