MUMBAI: Love at Fifth Floor is a mini – web series which is streaming on Mx player and the series is directed by Aditi Banerjee.
The series stars Dilnaz Irani, Nishu Dikshit and Rachna Gupta in lead roles and the story revolves around three women who are thrown into a situation and how they deal with these matters.
Tellychakkar got in touch with Dilnaz Irani who plays one of the leads in the series and asked her what drove her in signing the project and what similarities she sees in her reel and real character.
What drove you to this character that made you say “Yes” for the project?
For me it was more than the character. For me it was talking to the director Aditi Banerjee as to what she wanted through these miniseries such as how ladies are put in boxes and that if we are housewives we cannot work etc. If you are modern you can’t be vulnerable, so somewhere I wanted to understand these boxes and what she wanted. My interaction was so good that I knew that I wanted to work with this director and then the script and story.
Do you see any similarities between your character and your real life?
In terms of similarities, yes there are a lot of similarities. Its like the character can be relatable to any woman. I do identify little with my character and all three women. The beautiful part that Aditi has shown is, you can see a spark in all of us in each of our character.
What were the challenges you faced while essaying the character for this series?
The whole series was made on a less budget and Aditi did a good thing that she pulled a crowd for it and then she collected the budget and then shot for it. So it was very challenging for all of us to shoot the series. We shot it in a short span of time but the team was supportive. We shot in an apartment and not in a studio so the whole thing was a challenge and a beautiful experience.
Well, the series has got a positive response from the audience and people have loved the story plot.
