MUMBAI Shamsi Abbas Rizvi is rightly known as the king of Talk shows, he has been the vision behind numerous shows, films as well as ads. He has broadened his horizons with every aspect of the entertainment industry. Mr Rizvi has been a pillar for Freshly Ground Entertainment and has more than 75 successful Bollywood films under his belt.

With his second season of A table for two, he created a platform that is open to a larger industry and brings the fans closer to the stars that they meet on their TV screens every day. The stars stay longer with their viewers through their shows and bring the character to life and to their homes.

In an intriguing conversation with Mr Rizvi, we asked him about the current OTT content and expectancy in the future, he gave an insightful answer, "The OTT content began with an exploration in the genres of Violence and Sex from its establishing days, the content has become monotonous to certain platforms, the requirement of violence has increased more than its actual need in the show."

The content on OTT is like a small-town boy who came to the city in search of life, in the initial days he has been busy partying and exploring the nights. Soon the boy shall get bored of the glitter and focus on the daylight to make a living. The same way we shall soon have more gripping and meaningful stories to tell," he added.  

It wasn't possible to hold back the question of the ideal story, you would be surprised to know that his answer was "SIMPLE". "The idea is about building great characters in a simple story, we need to get invested in the characters and not the outer layers of the storyline. The character should stir the audience's emotions. There are eight rasas, why focus on only two of them?"

"The future has already stepped in with the family-oriented and teenage shows. Shows which have simpler yet meaningful stories without any nudity or bloodshed", he stated.
