MUMBAI : Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi starrer web series Dharavi Bank have started streaming on MX Player today. The series is directed by Samit Kakkad, and also stars Sonali Kulkarni and Freddy Daruwala in pivotal roles.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Suniel Shetty, and spoke to him about the web series, and a lot more…

OTT has been doing very well for the past few years. What made you take so long to make your digital debut?

I think the right offer, the right web series, the character, and the right team. This is one such show which has the right combination of everything. There has been huge support from every actor and the technical team who have worked on the show.

You had worked with Vivek Oberoi in Shootout At Lokhandwala. After 15 years, when you worked with him in Dharavi Bank what difference or growth did you see in him as an actor?

He has grown immensely as an actor. The minute Samit came and told me that as a cop we have Vivek, I said ‘nothing is better! because you know for a fact that you have someone who will make that part of the story work.

Suniel Shetty reveals his part of the story in Dharavi Bank

Like my part of the story is not just about Thalaivan, it’s my family that works. I keep saying this again and again because when you will watch the series you will understand that it’s Thalaivan’s family that gives him the energy to do what he does. He is at an age where physically he can’t go around doing anything, but mentally, he is strong enough and has the aura and the power to control the entire 52 acres of Mumbai sitting right there.

For me it was a comeback, it was like going back to school. There were tough times, but I am glad, and I am happy with the exams that I have given; now it’s time for the audience to decide what kind of marks they want to give me.
