MUMBAI: Citadel starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra has been in the news from the day it was announced. The series was in the making for the past couple of years, and finally, today, it has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
The reviews from the critics have been mixed to positive, and Priyanka and Richard’s performance is being praised a lot.
An Indian installment of Citadel is also in the making with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. It is being created by Raj & DK. So now while the duo’s roles are still kept under wraps, Sam is reportedly going to play the role of Priyanka Chopra’s mother.
This will be Samatha Ruth Prabhu’s second outing in the OTT space. She made her debut with The Family Man 2. A recent episode of the Priyanka Chopra starrer revealed that Samantha will play the role of PeeCee’s character Nadia’s mom in the series.
In the fifth episode we see Nadia getting a call from her father Rahi Gambhir and the voice we hear is of Varun Dhawan.

Samatha’s previous interviews hinted that the Indian Citadel might be set in the 80s and 90s and she said, “it is not a REMAKE!!”
