MUMBAI: Zee TV’s upcoming show – Main Hoon Saath Tere is set to take its viewers through the journey of a single mother, Janvi (Ulka Gupta), underlining the numerous challenges a mother has to take on, while doubling up as a parent. Based in Gwalior, Janvi lives with her son, Kian (Nihan Jain), who is the nucleus of her world.  Despite their strong bond, Kian feels the void of a man in the house, but more from his mother’s point of view as he sees her managing everything alone. The plot thickens when Janvi crosses paths with an affluent businessman Aryaman and the two end up working under the same roof. As Aryaman expresses interest in Janvi, will Kian approve of the match and play a role in bringing his single mother closer to the man who loves her …?

Popular actress Ulka Gupta has decided to go out of her way and do something unique to play Janvi authentically. To get into the skin of her character of a single mother living and managing everything independently, Ulka has taken it upon herself to do all her household chores without any assistance by her househelp. She believes this will make her body language more believable and natural as she is seen doing the same activities on screen.

Ulka Gupta said, “Given that I am quite young and not a mother yet, I haven’t had to do all the typical things a mom does around the house. With a view to imbibing the typical body language of an independent mother who does everything around the house herself, I felt I should do my household tasks myself for at least a month. There’s a certain nonchalance in the way a woman tucks her dupatta or ties her bun when she sweeps the floor or is cooking – these things cannot be taught, they come instinctively out of habit or experience. I hence felt the need to adopt these habits to bring them alive on screen naturally.”

While Ulka is very excited about learning new things for her character, it will be interesting for the viewers to watch an innocent take on love, life, and relationships, which is all set to unfold.
