Telly divas like will teach you how to rock the '90s look by endorsing the glamourous and trendy outfits of the '90s.

MUMBAI: Most of the millennials today belong to the '90s decade (1990-99) (variations in identification criterion exists). These folks are pretty well-versed with the popular fashion trends of the Bollywood heroes and heroines back then and how their movie-costumes turned out as the former party's regular outfit trend. It's not easy to forget those extra shimmery and sleeveless party dresses, those broad-shouldered crop tank-tops, high ponies, two pony-tails and oiled-braids, geeky pair of glasses with strings, grandfather's pair of jeans and dungarees and even high-waisted denim pairs and leather jackets.

But wait...why do you feel that there's nothing really old about these? Is it because the same garments are readily available in your nearby garment outlets these days and we are living in 2021 or maybe, you are unaware about the bigger reality-check. Yes, whatever popular outfit trend that's popularly trending currently are not new fashion, rather, these are the same old '90s fashionable garments and outfits that are being re-demanded by the new generation folks because of their ability of upholding both the style and comfort quotient simultaneously. Hence, the 20-25 years old garments and trends are being reprised and reused by the new gen kids and folks, which has even urged both the now grown-up millennials and Gen-Z's to resort back to their primary fashion trends, that were witnessed by them right from their birth.

Every single currently trending fashion garment, be it the re-trending boot-cut denim pairs, dungarees, tank tops, high-waisted palazzos, baggy sweat-shirts and harron pants, etc. used to be the hype-trend amongst the common public 20 years down the line. Pair with it accessories like the thick-rimmed geeky pair of spectacles, baby clips of various colours, thickness and sizes, artificial hair streaks and thin-beaded braids, fancy watches, studded earrings and ballerina pumps for girls. Looks like within a short-notice, all these fashion elements are trending back with a steady increase in their demand, however, they're being used in a reprised fashion with a fresh-twist as the ladies are more active in general, as compared to those back in the '90s. Hence, the fabrics being used has to have elasticity as one of it's primary principles.

Erica gives us major throwback nostalgia with her all-blue shimmery dress of the '90s era, back when mostly the item girls or the disco-dancers used to wear the same to dance to popular peppy item tracks that were played on-loop in almost every gatherings and events (be it of birthdays, anniversary parties, office outings, etc.) back then. The reprised fact here is that nowadays, people have become more inclusive regarding experimenting with garments that they don't subject it for a particular group of people anymore, be it on whatsoever grounds. To be honest, this trend of portraying the heroine of an item track in a short and shimmery dress has stayed constant for over a long time till date.

[[{"fid":"15689929","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"2":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":883,"width":650,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"2"}}]]

How does it feel to get the 'back-to-school' vibe from this picture of Karishma Tanna? Yes, purely nostalgic it is. This is a major throwback to those days when '90s kids used to flex their uniform, especially outside their school's premises when friends hung around together with their parents in ice-cream parlours, chocolate stores, book stores, etc. The reprised look of the original version definitely includes shorter skirts and sneaker-keds (as many schools have replaced the original leather-shoes for both girls and boys with branded sneaker-keds, that are made of cloth and foam).

[[{"fid":"15689939","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"3":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":911,"width":750,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"3"}}]]

Hina Khan provides a blurry image of Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor's old school style-statements with similar tank tops, wrapper-skirts and especially that art of tying your hair up into a low-pony with your handkerchief. This is totally how ladies' summer-fashion used to look like back then.

[[{"fid":"15689949","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"4":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":669,"width":424,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"4"}}]]

Yes it's true that turtle neck's trend is still prevalent be it through sweaters, pull-overs, sweat-shirts or fancy tops, but this fashionable style-statement began widely trending since the '90s and has never faced any low in it's demand till date, owing to the smartness-quotient it adds to the top-garment. Actress Surbhi Chandna has depicted how a turtle-necked party top can also be rocked with a thigh-high slit skirt, which is a very passionate '90s party-look.

[[{"fid":"15689969","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"5":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":486,"width":406,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"5"}}]]

Lastly, Divyanka Tripathi's denim mid dungaree-dress was a patent possession of almost all youngsters and children back in the '90s, which they used to flaunt during special gatherings like birthday or other parties, in picnics, school/ college outings, etc. Back in those days, girls loved to wear matching baby-clips on their hair or tie two side pony-tails whenever they wore dungarees. Nowadays, girls prefer to either keep their hair open or casually tie it up as side braids or a top-ponytail.
