5 times Pritam supposedly ‘copied’ songs

We take a look at five of Pritam's blockbuster tracks, which are said to be unoriginal compositions.
Pritam

He may be the maestro of hit number and soulful tracks, but he’s supposed to have lifted tunes from popular numbers.

We are obviously referring to Pritam, who’s churned out many blockbuster tracks in his Bollywood journey. We take at five songs that are allegedly plagiarised…read on:

Bulleya (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil): The haunting song has made us all fall in love with it, but looks like it’s not as original as it’s made out to be. The Hindi version is said to be inspired by Papa Roach's Last Resort. Even though his team dismissed it as mere rumours, we can’t help but agree with the aam junta. What about you guys?

Ahum Ahum (Love Aaj Kal): This foot-tapping single is a serious ode to Deewane Tere Naam Ke by Sukhwinder Singh. The film version might have more detailed guitar bits and an electro mix, but the rumoured original is a more mellowed version…

Pehli Nazar Mei (Race): The song that showed of Atif Aslam in all his colours is actually pretty similar (dare we say, copied straight from?) to Kim Hyung Sup's Korean melody Sarang Hae Yo. Right from its opening to the feel, both versions reek of similarity.

Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si (Life In a Metro): The progressive movie’s success was mainly due to the kickass music, this song being right on top. But looks like it’s not come straight from Pritam’s stable as it’s source is said to be OST Sam Soon’s Ah Reum Da Oon...

Hare Ram (Bhool Bhulaiyya): The spooky thriller also makes it to the list because its catchy fare Hare Ram Hare Ram bears resemblance to JTL’s My Lecon. The rhythm and chorus can be fit into the Hindi version and we wouldn’t know the difference. A case of inspiration? We let you guys decide.

Phew! That's quite a list!
