29 years of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar: Did you know Akshay Kumar was approached for this movie but he rejected it?
MUMBAI: One of the most loved movies of Aamir Khan and one of the most successful movies of Bollywood is Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. The movie, which throws light on college life and competition, has won several hearts of the fans. Till today when we see the movie, we love to see it all over again.
Today Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar completes 29 years, and did you know Akshay Kumar had also auditioned for this movie? Yes, you heard it right! Superstar Akshay Kumar had auditioned for Deepak Tijori's role.

At that time, Akshay was a couple of films old. His films were Saugandh and Dancer, both released in 1991. His breakthrough film Khiladi released in 1992, one month after Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. Talking about the audition, Akshay told mid-day: "Apna screen test diya maine, for Deepak Tijori's role. And they didn't like it. And, apparently, I was crap, so they removed me."

Released in the year 1992, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was directed and co-written by Mansoor Khan and produced and co-written by Nasir Hussain. The film stars Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Pooja Bedi, Mamik Singh, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, whilst Aamir's brother Faisal Khan makes a special appearance.
